61 teams set for Rookie 7s tourney

The annual Rookie Sevens rugby tournament kicks off today at the Bava Rugby Park with 61 teams competing across four divisions.
Tournament director Sailosi Druma yesterday confirmed 24 sides each in the men and Under-20 divisions, and 10 women’s. Three deaf teams will also take part.
“This year’s tournament will feature only Moresby teams,” he said.
“We’ve got men’s teams like Harlequins, Spartans and Mantas.
“In the women’s division, we have teams like Nova and Harlequins.”
