8 Covid deaths recorded

PAPUA New Guinea registered eight new Covid-19 deaths and 96 new cases from last Wednesday to Friday.
The country’s death toll is at 187 and total infections is 17,467.
The Covid-19 National Control Centre said in a statement that seven deaths (three men and four women aged between 15 and 80) were reported last Wednesday – Madang (six) and Western Highlands (one).
The eighth death was reported from Western Highlands last Thursday.
No deaths were reported on Friday and only three new cases were registered.
There were 56 and 39 new cases last Wednesday and Thursday respectively.
West Sepik, East Sepik and Hela reported a single case each on Friday.
Globally, the total confirmed cases is 189,625,953 including 485,767 new cases.
The global death toll stands at 4,081,061 including 6,942 new deaths.
