8-Mile road too dusty

Letters

THE community at 8-Mile settlements, in Port Moresby, are concerned about the dust from the recently upgraded road.
Dust kicked up by vehicles travelling on the road may make up 33 per cent of air pollution in the area.
Road dust consists of deposits of vehicle exhausts particles and from tire and brake wear.
Road dust is a significant source of airborne diseases.
We ask NCD Governor Powes Parkop and Minister for Housing and Urbanisation and Port Moresby North East MP John Kaupa to seal the road for the sake of the people of 8-Mile.
