MORE than 9,000 students have been selected to study in tertiary institutions around the country, the Department of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (DHERST) revealed.
DHERST revealed through the National Online Selection System (NOSS) that of the 27,686 who applied through the National Online Application System (NAOS), 9,427 were selected for tertiary education according to their choices.
DHERST secretary Prof Fr Jan Czuba told selectors that 2,365 students were still eligible and would be selected through the National Admission Pool to fill the 11,818 spaces available in 205 higher education institutions in the country.
Selectors from more than 20 tertiary institutions around the country witnessed via online video DHERST Minister Nick Kuman launch the National Online Selection on Friday.
Kuman expressed disappointment over the number of spaces available for students.
“Students in higher education institutions make up one per cent of our total population,” Kuman said.

  • 9000 students are less number of students selected to tertiary institutions. This does not match with the equipment and the facilities in the schools. To my estimation, there would be some space available so if any students wish to fit in, you need to make you way hurry to occupy the spaces in any institution you wish to study. To be a successful, today is the time not tomorrow.Tommorrow has their own time and purpose.
To conclude, there would be more space available in all the tertiary institutions around the country so if any students miss out from the selection, today is your time to find and fit in.
