Port Moresby and crime

Letters

WE read and hear how tough the president of the Philippines is when dealing with drug trade and crime.
What is the governor for NCD doing to curb the drug and law and order situation in NCD?
Everyday people are moving around in fear because drug addicts are controlling the streets, markets and bus stops.
To deter crime, NCD needs tougher bylaws.
Studies show that 80 per cent of people convicted of crimes cannot be rehabilitated back to society and that’s why bad apples have to be removed before the metal-sheet fences can come down.
The move to remove razor wires and metal sheet and concrete fencing has allowed criminals to take advantage of the situation and terrorise residents at will to satisfy their appetite for drugs.
So when will such madness stop, Mr Governor?
Only those locations within the Apec routes need to be cleared of such fencing because our suburbs are no longer safe with new settlements sprouting.
Mr Kipit should have realistic solutions. By the way, the blue street lights are longer working.
