THE 2019 Institute of Business Studies College of Tvet Math/IT Inter-School Competition hosted its final for grade 12s with six students given awards last Friday.
The three-round competition, which started in June, saw only 11 grade 12 students, out of the 73 who started in round one, make the final and sat for their respective exams – five for math and six for IT (information technology).
Math competition coordinator Aaron Hihina said the top three winners from each field were awarded shopping vouchers from sponsor Central Practicing Accounting (CPA), in partnership with Theodist.
“I would like to thank CPA for sponsoring this event annually,” Hihina said.
The first prize was K150 and second and third was K100; all finalists received shopping vouchers from Theodist.
Hihina said the competition was growing each year with more schools showing interest and they planned to expand to other provinces.
