Balance work, spiritual life

MEMBERS of the Catholic Bishop Conference of PNG and Solomon Islands balanced work and spiritual life during their annual retreat last week at the Xavier Institute in Port Moresby.
Spiritual director of the Holy Spirit Seminary at Bomana Fr Michael Donovan was the guest speaker during the two-day retreat.
The theme was “Call to holiness in today’s world.”
Donovan spoke on the need for Christ in people’s lives.
The conference stressed on the need to strike a balance between work and spiritual lives.
“Many times, we go about doing things without little or no appreciation at all being given to God,” he said.
“But God never forgets us and is always with us.”
“Do not think that God will abandon you because you lose sight and faith in him.
“God is a loving and forgiving God who loves everyone no matter the bad things we do.”
Executive assistant to the conference secretary Nyleptha Kenny said the retreat was spiritually enriching.
“This is a time for all us to grow stronger in the Lord,” she said.
