Defence to distribute military items to outside bases

THE Defence Force will distribute 32 crates of military items and stores to its units outside Port Moresby.
Defence Minister Saki Soloma and Defence Secretary Hari John Akipe inspected the items at the Support Battalion Supplies section.
Soloma and Akipe were shown the stores and the vehicles undergoing oiling and preservation processes to avoid rust.
Soloma directed last month that the vehicles be distributed at the earliest time possible.
The vehicles include ambulances, tow trucks, troop carrier vehicles and buses donated by the Chinese government last year.
“It is important that our soldiers are well equipped and mobilised in executing their tasks while out on duties.”
