Boas sees need for improvements

RABAUL Gurias captain and halfback Watson Boas says they have a lot more areas to improve on despite finishing round five of the Digicel Cup in second spot.
The Papua New Guinea halfback said last week that his men had been repeating “the same mistakes in every game”.
“I still think we’re not where we want to be,” the 25-year-old said.
“We still need to improve on many areas.
“We can’t afford to be complacent after winning a game.
“It’s good to review our mistakes and try not to repeat them in the next game.
“One of our problem is the amount of handling errors we make in a game. We really need to minimise that.” Meanwhile, Boas said his combination with five-eighth Allan Simbiri was improving.
“I believe we are doing fine,” he said.
“Allan is good but I still think he has some areas to improve on.
“But for the long run, I am confident he will be an exciting player to watch.”
Boas said the 2015 premiers were excited to return home to Kalabond Oval for this weekend’s match against the visiting Goroka Lahanis. It’s been a while since we played at home so it’s a good feeling to be back,” he said.
“The boys are excited and I am sure the fans in Kokopo will enjoy the game.”
