UNIVERSITY of Papua New Guinea students will cooperate with any inquiry into the recent stand-off between them and soldiers.

Student Representative Council president Peter Numu said they would cooperate to find out who caused the problem.

“All students will cooperate with the investigation so that those who are at fault could be established from those implicated and the general public,” he said.

“Those found guilty must face the full consequences of their actions.”

Meanwhile, Medical Faculty students at the UPNG Taurama campus had denied a statement by the soldiers that they had started the row.

Two students, who asked not to be identified, told The National last Friday that there was no evidence to prove that those involved were medical students.
