A conspiracy in our health sector?

Letters, Normal

I feel there is a conspiracy in the health sector as never before in PNG’s history has disease statistic gathering and subsequent reporting been more scary than today.
Over the last two years or so, new disease outbreaks and the involvement of the NDOH and WHO reporting one policy after another is frightening.
On Aug 12, The National reported four stories relating to the health sector:
1. Measle-free PNG by 2012;
2. Nationwide H1N1 influenza vaccinations with 17 new cases reported this year;
3. MP Mark Maipakai stresses the need for immunisation; and
4. K14.17 billion has been allocated for the 2011-20 health plan.
What I am interested to know is drawing up these policies and action plans?
Is it the NDOH or WHO?
What is WHO’s interest in PNG?
Is it because PNG borrowed a huge amount of money from World Bank and it is being forced to accept all these?
My opinion is that there is an agenda here.
We are now rushing for immunisation programmes with no real cause of alarm.
The only alarm is the media hype.
My next guess is there will be compulsory immunisation for everyone over the next 10 years.
I will not have my children vaccinated unless the NDOH or WHO can prove that the drugs are safe.
