Abau MP helps netballers

FORMER deputy prime minister and Abau MP Sir Puka Temu last Friday paid K25,000 to assist Abau players involved in the Central team to take part in the PNG Netball Federation championships in Madang.
The money is from the K100,000 allocated to districts, and he was glad that K25,000 went to supporting netball.
Sir Puka said he hoped that the small gesture from Abau  district would boost the morale of the players.
It also provides opportunities or gives the chance to Abau womenfolk to expose their talents during the meet.
He said they had already assisted Aroma Coast team to the Kimbe Sevens with K20,000 and other sports such as soccer.
He added that the money would assist those who had paid their 50% levy fee as a requirement, and also assist Team Central participate at the tournament in Madang on Sept 29-Oct 3.
Central Netball Association treasurer Diane Kila thanked Sir Pukafor timely assistance which would go towards assisting the Abau players selected in the team.
Kila said association would be sending four junior and three senior teams to the event.
They are also preparing three masters teams for the Pan Pacific Masters Games in Gold Coast in November.
