ALOTAU in Milne Bay launched its five-year district plan over the weekend in the hope of achieving service delivery and economic growth.
MP and National Planning and Monitoring Minister  Charles Abel said the Alotau District Integrated Development Plan 2011-15 was the development framework to provide guidance and support for implementation.
Through this the district hopes to see service delivery and growth.
Abel said the plan include planning and budget processes, direction for implementation and indication of  funding sources.
The plan’s key features include :
l    State of the district – describing the physical, social and cultural context for resource-planning and decision-making in the district;
l    Situation analysis for service delivery and economic development issues through sector programmes;
l    Priority projects and programmes under the alignment plan, with clear budget; and
l    Guidance on managing implementation, monitoring and evaluation processes through existing systems for effective outcomes.
“The plan will change periodically based on evaluations … it is however designed to be flexible in meeting changing LLG priorities and costing,” Abel said.
The Alotau district website was also launched and now include five-year plans from Weraura, Huhu, Suau, Makamaka, Maramatana, Daga and Alotau urban Local Level Governments.
