Academic year off to fine start in Chimbu

SCHOOLS in Chimbu province have start their 2012 academic calendar, principal education adviser Essy Walkaima said.
“By next week all academic programmes for the new school year will start, with Karimui teachers being flown to their respective postings this week,” he said.
He said teachers had resumed work last week and were enrolling and registering students this week.
Walkaima said the student intake was going on as scheduled.
He, however, condemned parents for failing to save money for their children’s school fees and rushing around at the last minute to find money.
Walkaima thanked teacher, principals and head teachers of schools for making the resumption of the school year in Chimbu successful.
He said parents should have paid fees over the holiday period.
