Accounting education vital

ACCOUNTING education is an important subject in Business Studies in tertiary institutions. Coming from the accounting education background, and having been taught in colleges for a decade or so, I felt that there is more to be done to get the level of understanding in students in the Accounting Subject.
I have been teaching some first year intakes coming into tertiary institutions taking up Business Studies; accounting subject seems a challenge to them.
Most average and below average students seem to be having difficulty in understanding accounting subject due to not having a clue in the accounting subject before coming over taking up Business Studies. One reason could be that students may not have the prerequisite understanding to flow with the accounting lessons easily as they go along. Or the method of delivering the subject by the subject teacher may not be clearer to the student’s understanding to flow with the lessons easily.
One way to speed up on the learning and understanding on the subject is to attempt all activities by the students and the subject teacher to correct them before moving on to a new topic.
These are some basics dynamics of mastering the accounting area.
The difficulty of understanding accounting subject is always the case to all first years into Business Studies.
Students should remember that challenges are good because it helps the student to adjust to accustom to the subject.
