AFTER 47 years of independence, the issue for proper housing remains a concern, acting Prime Minister John Rosso says.
Rosso said the success record of all housing projects all these years had been mixed or were null and void which needed the Government’s approach.
“The Government demands public servants to perform, but where they lie down to rest at night is troubling,” he said.
Rosso was speaking at the ground breaking ceremony of the public servants’ housing project at Bomana in Port Moresby yesterday.
He said the Government had been seeking to reform all aspects in the country which included public service.
“This project could be a good place to begin after the General Election 2022 which contributes to boosting the confidence of public servants,” he said. Rosso said it had been a long cry for public servants of whom many lived in the settlements and this project needed to move forward with the start of construction of houses.
