THE Assemblies of God (AOG) Church of Papua New Guinea will build a new teachers college in Western Highlands to produce teachers to cater for the growing number of students, the church says.
A delegation from the AOG Jubilee University made the announcement after taking part in a ground breaking ceremony for the Keminga AOG Teachers College last Thursday at Kumdi, Mul-Baiyer.
The delegation comprised Bryan Sam, the director of Jubilee’s project management unit, registrar Jimmy Olali and church executive officer Pr John Apami and AOG Highlands regional superintendent Pr Peter Ropra.
Olali said the university had chosen to establish a second AOG teachers college in Western Highlands at Keminga village because they had the faith in the leadership of the Kumdi tribe to look after the institution as the landowners.
He said Jubilee University would manage it until it became fully operational.
He said Jubilee would provide the academic staffing and curriculum and assist the college’s management.
