CLIMATE change campaigner Latin N’Drihin is in dire need of K50,000 to support his walk around the world.

The 48-year-old from Lomoei village in north coast Manus started walking around Manus Island in 2010.

The following year he walked from Bogia to Madang and then to Lae. Last year in Port Moresby he walked around the Sir John Guise stadium for six days.

N’Drihin told The National that his approach to the media was to help him secure sponsors for the global walk.

“Print media has helped me gain momentum and now my story is covered by Australian Broadcasting Corporation and other radio stations in the country,” he said.

“Speaking from my heart, I wonder if climate change is observed seriously in PNG because the world is suffering.

“My approach to business houses and politicians for support has been denied but I’m keeping my fingers crossed for those who are yet to respond.

“Because of that, I am planning a walk around New Ireland to raise funds and test my physical endurance.

“I will also be speaking to communities and schools.”

to address climate change issues and also promote my walk with a short film documentary for my global exposure,” he said.

“I have walked alone and across the rugged terrains of PNG struggling with pain and hunger with tears but nobody except the media has connected and promoted me nationally and internationally.
