ADB loan

Letters

RECENT announcement of K340 million ADB loan in Wewak by the Prime Minister James Marape for agriculture businesses for the two Sepik provinces is a wake-up call for West Sepik.
The high poverty rate in the province is due to poor or no road links to Vanimo.
As a corridor to Asian Markets complementing PNG Government’s “Look North” policy.
For quite too long, people have lost their cocoa business to the borer disease and now poor vanilla prices in Maprik have made growers lose interest.
Could the Sandaun government and leaders take ownership of the people’s problem and act responsibly.
Mobilise resources and travel to the districts by air and buy peoples’ produce and sell it in Indonesian markets.
You become a buyer or exporter on behalf of the people and make revenue for the province by putting money into the people’s pockets.
This is the only way to reduce high poverty rate in West Sepik.
