Call to address education issue

Letters

THE education level in Usino-Bundi is degrading and needs a total overhaul of the entire programmes and system.
Appointment of district education officials is also questioned especially the education programme manager.
There seems to be biased and nepotism in the appointment of officers resulting in very poor performances of the students and degrading educational standards.
Education officers have also resigned. The recent burning of two double classrooms at Walium Primary School could be a possible expression of frustration by the local community.
This could be an act of arson or electrical fault but the point of the matter is the educational level in the district.
It is a grave concern and must be investigated at all costs because the future of our children depends on the quality of teachers and those in the educational hierarchy in the district.
We call upon the education authorities in Madang provincial Government to send an internal investigation team to Usino-Bundi immediately to address this issue.
