ADB to launch new report today

THE Asian Development Bank (ADB) will launch a new report today, Finding Balance, Benchmarking the Performance of State-Owned Enterprises in Papua New Guinea.
The new ADB report assesses the impact of the SOEs on the PNG economy as well as on the other five Pacific countries mentioned in the report: Fiji, Marshall Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, and Tonga.
The report also identifies the key performance drivers and reform strategies that may influence future policy action.
Managing director of the Independent Public Business Corporation (IPBC), Thomas Abe will participate in the launch along with other senior PNG government officials.
The authors of the report, ADB state-owned enterprise advisors – Laure Darcy and Christopher Russell, and Marcelo Minc, country director of ADB’s PNG resident mission, will also be present at today’s launch at the Crowne Plaza Hotel at 10am.
