Addo-Carr: I’ll miss Olam

MELBOURNE winger Josh Addo-Carr says he has likely played his last game for the Storm and Papua New Guinea international Justin Olam is one of the teammates he will miss the most.
The New South Wales Origin player is seeking to move home to Sydney where he will be closer to his family.
“I really respect him as a human being,” Addo-Carr said of the former Lae Tiger and SP Hunter.
“He’s really proud of his people and where he comes from.
“We have got that same connection, I’m really passionate about my people too.
“We call him the human brick. He’s built like a brick.”
Addo-Carr said everyone at Storm loved 26-year-old Olam’s fearless running from day one.
“He would run harder than anyone, run dead-straight at anyone,” the 25-year-old said.
“You would see that at wrestling sessions, trial games and in the Queensland Cup.
“In my opinion, he is the best centre in the game — both attacking and defensively.
“It’s an absolute pleasure playing alongside him and sharing the field together.”
Olam admits his biggest adjustment has been to Addo-Carr’s elite speed.
“He’s such an amazing player and his speed is a weapon we use,” Olam said. “We are always working on our timing, especially my passing to him.
“If I pass it too slow, he might run past the ball.”
Two-time winner Addo-Carr played in the 2017 premiership triumph while Olam was in the stands.
“All of our senior players have grand final experience but we have a good mix of young players who have never been here before,” Olam said.
“We made memories for ourselves (in the grand final against Penrith).” – SMH

  • I always love watching Storms game , just to watch Josh Addo -Car, Cameron Smith and Justin Olam. the results delivery by Addo- Car and Jusint Olam in each game is really outstanding and rewarding . both communicate effectively as if they speak Tok Pigin in the field. I really admire Addo- Car and Jusint Olam combination.

    Go mighty Storms
    PNG with you
