Address shortage in poultry stock

Letters

I AM writing with regards to a know-it-all politician who may have made a fool of himself in parliament last year when he raised biosecurity issues surrounding importation of live and processed poultry products into the country.
He may have lacked basic genetic understanding on the parental breeding stock material for the day old chicks before carelessly labelling Australia and New Zealand as a biosecurity threat to the local poultry industry.
He should do his best to assist the Government to establish direct quarantine protocols under the pandemic period to charter an aircraft to New Zealand to pick up parent stock for the domestic suppliers to supply the poultry farmers under this shortfall situation.
