Agencies should assist in development

Letters

SINCE Papua New Guinea became an independent state 44 years ago, successive governments’ had placed a lot of emphasis on economic, social, political and infrastructure development.
The spiritual wellbeing of the nation had been considered least important.
The state and the church should equally share the blame on the ugly state of affairs the country has been and is experiencing at the moment.
Lawlessness is rampant in the streets, communities.
We live with fear almost every day of our lives.
Fear of what? Fear of being killed, attacked, robbed, raped or harassed in the streets, at work, market, bus stops, shop, school, garden, park, beach, sports and party venues.
If fear is present in our lives, then sadly, God is missing.
Therefore, what we are reaping today is the result of neglect by the successive governments and the churches over the years in the areas of health, education and spiritual development.
The latter is very important. It is the responsibility of the churches but they have lacked resources and the manpower to adequately fulfil their spiritual obligation.
When a nation is balanced in every aspect of development including spiritual, then there is peace and harmony in the society.
There is respect and love for people of different backgrounds, language and culture.
Remember God can change a hardcore criminal or worst sinner to become a law abiding citizen.
Does that sound simple?
Yes, that can only happen through the power of the Almighty God and none else!
We must learn from the nation of Israel of its past and the present.
Israel’s kings like Saul, David, Solomon and others after them depended on God for wisdom, advice and instruction on how best they could manage the affairs of their nation.
Heeding God’s advise, Israel succeeded and prospered.
Neglecting God’s wisdom for good governance, Israel suffered at the hands of its enemies.
In this modern day, why is USA so close to Israel than any other nation on earth?
Prophetically, the living God of Israel has taught America invaluable lessons about its past, present and the future.
PNG should also connect with the land flowing with milk and honey so that God’s countless blessings can flow into PNG.
Prime Minister James Marape has a vision for this young nation.
To support the Marape government in its vision to train and educate people to be law abiding, we stand ready to assist the government through our Bible courses by distance learning.
Our courses can cover the length and breadth of PNG through correspondence and online.
We can deliver God’s message to every doorstep in PNG that can inspire your spiritual life to new heights and prepare you for heavenly citizenship.
