COUNTRIES need a mutual agreement or memorandum of understanding (MoU) on reciprocal visa arrangement with Papua New Guinea to receive visa on arrival, chief migration officer Solomon Kantha says.
“Reciprocal visa arrangements with other countries are implemented through a MOU,” he said.
Kantha said a draft MoU on reciprocal visa on arrival with India was awaiting clearance by the Office of the State Solicitor.
“After the clearance we will communicate with the Indian High Commission on a date for ministers to meet and sign,” he said. “Indian diplomats and government officials can get visa on arrival but not the other people.”
West New Britain Governor Sasindran Muthuval raised the issue about visa with India in parliament last week.
