Ahipum confirms addressing compliance issue

THE compliance issue regarding the National Housing Estate Limited and the Investment Promotion Authority is being addressed, executive chairman Kevin Ahipum says.
He confirmed that the NHEL had failed to submit annual returns to IPA since 2010. But he said this was being addressed by the management.
“In the view of NHEL, this is not an issue because we are currently working on it, just like any other entity registered with IPA and other statutory organisation that enforces compliance.”
He said it took some time to prepare the annual returns because the NHEL was formally a division under the National Housing Corporation before becoming an IPA-registered company on Sept 28, 2007.
“In 2016, the NHC decided to make NHEL a division of its branch. But we see from that standpoint that we have successively and progressively tried to manage with various management from the NHC coming forward until NHEL was established as a fully pledged office in 2007.”
