AIR Niugini is offering to fly home Papua New Guinea students studying in China out of Hong Kong airport for free as long as they meet health clearance and quarantine, the airline said.
This applies to students studying in any province in China, except for those in Wuhan city or Hubei Province.
The students must make sure they meet all government requirements and go through full health screening and quarantine checks being carried out in their respective airports in China and Hong Kong.
Once all cleared by authorities, they will then be uplifted by Air Niugini at Hong Kong airport free.
Further checks and monitoring will be carried out by health and quarantine authorities on arrival here in Port Moresby.
The students’ parents are advised to contact Air Niugini customer care on the following email address for further information and requirements: [email protected]
Meanwhile, the airline said that it was complying with the Government’s directive to mitigate the global emergency of the coronavirus risks.
It said it had stopped uplifting of all passengers who had been to Wuhan City or Hubei Province in the last 14 days.

  • Well done Air Niugini. Thank you for the humble gesture. With already 910 deaths (908 in China and 2 elsewhere) and approximately 40,628 infections recorded (40,185 in China alone), we as a nation must do the best we can to do whatever it takes to combat the further spread of this deadly disease.
