Airport security in tatters

Letters

ALLOW me to add my view on the security concern raised by Prime Minister Peter O’Neill regarding the robbery of the BSP branch at the Jacksons Airport international terminal. I am a regular at the airport and have noticed that in the last couple of years, the security measures at the entrance to the terminal have deteriorated to the point where anybody can enter the building without scrutiny. First it was the x-ray machine that went. Just recently I have realised that there is no presence of static guards, especially in the early hours. It seems the arrow of blame is aimed at security contractors but they only follow orders from their client, even if the client orders that certain security measures be done away with. The public and business houses which use this terminal have the right to protest about their security being compromised and who is responsible for this pathetic state of affairs.
