THE Waigani committal court on Wednesday issued a warrant of arrest for Dominic Nerman Johns, 35, who allegedly molested a 37-year-old woman in Port Moresby last year.
Magistrate Paul Nii issued the warrant after being told by police prosecutor Sgt Joseph Sangam that Johns was served with the police file but had failed to attend court.
“Since the file is served, it becomes a court’s property and I will issue the warrant for Johns’ arrest,” he said, adjourning the case to Feb 22.
Johns is alleged to have at 8pm on Oct 21, while the woman was on the phone texting with friends he, while under influence of alcohol, started accusing her of phone sex.
He then tried to hug the woman and molested her.
Johns is alleged to have at 5.45am on Oct 22 entered the woman’s room while she was asleep and molested her.
She woke and pushed him away.
Johns wanted to apologise to the woman who rejected his apology and lodged a police report.
