HEKARI United will treat every game with respect leading towards the Telikom National Soccer League finals next week.

Coach Jerry Allen said he respected Gigira Laitepo Morobe FC and would not treat them lightly.

“Despite the minor premiership already in the bag after the 5-0 victory over Besta PNG United, we will give 100% against the pride of Morobe,” he said.

Allen said he would be fielding some bench players to rest senior players for the semi-finals next Saturday.

Team manageress Vonnye Kapi Natto said from Lae there were two minor injuries to Wira Wama and Eric Komeng.

They have returned to Port Moresby for medical treatment in the hope they can be fit next weekend.

“We are going to protect our reputation and will not treat the game against Gigira Laitepo lightly,” she said.

“Gigira Laitepo is good team … they only need to instil discipline on the players both on and off the field. During the infant stages of NSL, Gigira Laitepo was the powerhouse of soccer along with CMSS Tigers and University.”

In the Ox & Palm Women’s National Soccer League, the Lae leg will be played between Bara and Prima Power on Saturday at the Sir Ignatius Kilage Stadium at 1pm, while the Port Moresby leg will see Mungkas FC going against Northern Crusaders FC at the Sir John Guise Stadium at midday.

After round four in the Lae leg, Panamax Softex Poro lead with seven points, followed by Prima Power on three and Bara on one.

In the Port Moresby after round three, Crusaders, Yamaros FC and Mungkas FC are tied on two points each.
