THE City Pharmacy Rebels will rely on a young side in tomorrow’s Port Moresby Netball Association premier division game against Sparrows.

The runners-up of last season’s premier division have set their focus on maintaining momentum this season with the inclusion of Under-21 players Anotinette Kila, Laura Logona and Ceslie Rapilla.

Premier player Kila Rawali said the inclusion of these young girls in the premier team had helped greatly since last season’s grand final against Telstars.

“It’s going to be Laura, Anotinette and Ceslie’s second season with the premier team and they’ve done well so far,” she said.

After their first win last Saturday in round one against Aroma Coast, Rebels are capable of repeating that against the Sparrows who lost to Snax Mermaids in round one.

Under Salome Mavara’s coaching, the Rebels will be lead by experienced Winnie Mavara, Marinama Maha and Rawali alongside youngsters Kila, Logona, Tina Gabina and Rapilla to add flavour to the dynamic team.

The Port Moresby Netball Association accommodates one of the country’s biggest competitive premier and junior competitions.

Sparrows will have the Lahari sisters – Jacklyn and Dianne – at shooting, internationals Margaret Eka and Kilala Owen defending and classy midcourters Aivu Logona and Alurigo Opina.

Sparrows lost to Mermaids last weekend but are determined to win this round if they can cut down their simple errors.

In the other premier matches, Veupunama take on Esco Telstars, Snax Mermaids go against Paramana, while Raukele and Aroma Coast meet in the afternoon match.
