Ambiguous policy

Letters

THE quote from the National Capital District Commission city manager Bernard Kipit regarding colorbond fencing is rather ambiguous to say the least.
Coloorbond fencing is already painted, there is also plain zincalume or galvanised.
What is it then?
He says wire mesh fencing, security concerns are not an issue, mesh wire is sufficient. Well just a few minutes work with one or two pair of hand held bold cutters or hand held tin snips and you are in the premises, really.
So the poor residents have to foot the bill for new fencing when NCDC cannot ‘control the sale of spray cans’. Most of the people know where it comes from.
Laws have been passed on graffiti – spray can sales; betel nut sales; lighting of fires from residential areas and stray dog collection/drinking in residential areas, that is, on the street in residential areas.
None of these have been implemented properly nor governed by the NCDC – let the poor residents pay – they will foot the bill.
What about some compensation for the purchase of new materials when the laws have not been adhered here-over to you?
