Amend with due respect

The National, Tuesday August 6th, 2013

PRIME Minister Peter O’Neill has responded to critics and Opposition that there is nothing sinister to the amendments done to our Constitution.

While the Opposition has agreed not to support the changes, I plead with all the MPs in the Government to ponder about the move before backing the changes.

All Papua New Gui-neans know that we are a Christian country, therefore, the Constitution was founded on Chris-tianity.

In other words, the principles by which the laws of this nation were constituted are Christian-oriented.

The question is if the Constitution is founded on Christian principles, why do we have to amend it?
