THE Tokarara Assemblies of God in Port Moresby, National Capital District, hosted a crusade to celebrate Christmas together with their neighbours and surrounding communities over the long weekend last December.
The programme gave people the opportunity to get to know God better and surrender their lives to Him.
Addressing the crusade, senior pastor and guest speaker Reverend Nick Ricky, called on every people to know the saving grace of God and accept Jesus Christ in their lives.
“It is God’s will to see people being saved. Other things are not important and pleasing to God. His desire is for the people to be saved and to have eternal life in His Kingdom.”
Sharing from the bible and quoting Timothy 2:3-4 verse one, Pr Rickey said: “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our saviour, who desire all man to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.
“People must come to know the saving grace of God that will enable us to enter the Kingdom of God.”
He warned: “The devil has used the power of this world to get people away from God.
He used the systems and influence of this world to blind people spiritually to see the saving grace of God.
“I have a good news to tell you. This crusade gives you the opportunity to know the saving grace of God.
“Grace of God does not give us the permission to continue to live in sin and ignorance. Instead, the saving grace of God gives mankind the opportunity to find eternal life.
“The life that we now live on earth is short and temporary. One day, the grace of God will be lifted up and there will be no more opportunity for you to know God and be saved.”
Ricky said times were tough with so many things happening around the world.
“The only safest place is in God where you will be saved and will have eternal life.”
Communities had turned out in numbers during the crusade with many young men and women committing their lives to Christ, indicating a new beginning for them.
