FORMER Apec minister Justin Tkatchenko says a copy of the preliminary Apec report was handed to the prime minister in November.
He said once the report was audited by an independent professional company, it would be given to the prime minister and minister for finance to look through and present to parliament.
Tkatchenko said he was more than happy to present the report in Parliament to ensure that his last role was done. “I am no longer Apec minister,” he said.
“But I have stated that I am more than happy to present the report if the prime minister wants me to, and to finish off the last of my work that is outstanding.
“We are now waiting for the final audit to be done and then it will be put on the floor of parliament.”
Tkatchenko said the report had taken too long to be audited and presented to the parliament.
“It has frustrated me greatly that this has taken so long,” he said.
“I would have loved it to be read out and put on the floor of parliament last year.
“But unfortunately, different circumstances didn’t allow that to happen.”
Tkatchenko said whatever happens, he would always put his hands up to finish his job.
