APNG awards for safety awareness

 AIRLINES PNG recently announced the winners of the airlines’ internal safety awards. 

Quarterly awards are given to staff who have brought new initiatives to the airline to increase safety awareness and behaviour and also those who have shown continuous focus on safe work practice. 

Most recent winners are Wafe Kambugi, APNG port manager from Moro, James Suwa, porter from Mt Hagen, Steven Dee, aircraft maintenance engineer, Port Moresby and Brady McCullum, Dash 8 captain, Port Moresby. 

All four winners were congratulated by chief executive officer Muralee Siva for their proactive approach to workplace safety and focus on continuous improvement. 

“It is very pleasing to see so many staff actively embracing the Airlines PNG safety programme so enthusiastically and working diligently to further enhance our performance in this area,” Siva at the recent staff presentations. 

“Safety is our number one priority and all our staff are involved in making APNG workplace a safe environment and equally important ensuring safety of all our passengers on each and every flight.

“Our safety motto ‘Safety, it’s everybody’s business’ truly reflects our safety culture internally and on behalf of our many clients that we have a proud and lasting relationship with.”

The airline was awarded the EHL project development support safety award for last year.
