Applications for volunteers open

PAPUA New Guineans interested in becoming volunteers to help deliver basic government services in communities around the country can now apply online via National Volunteer Service (NVS) website or Facebook page.
NVS programmes director Jacquelyn Krewanty said the launch of NVS’s website at Sambra Haus in Port Moresby yesterday, was important for the government agency as it would make applying to be a volunteer more convenient.
She said there were two applications forms: the application volunteer expression of interest form; and, the partner organisation form.
Krewanty said people could access the site on their smart phones and apply.
“The forms are user-friendly and easy to fill,” she said.
“This online application form will gradually phase-out our manual forms.”
Krewanty said the launch of the National Volunteer Service website coincided with Papua New Guinea’s National Volunteer Day.
