WHILE it is National Executive Council’s duty to appoint acting managing directors and chief executive officers to their substantive positions, a few of those in acting positions have been overlooked for far too long.
It is really unfair to overlook a person who has been in acting position for more than a year and you bring in another person and appoint him in an acting position and for less than three months, the person is appointed to his substantive position get gazette by governor-general for a five-year contract.
It is fine, but what about the person who has been acting for a year?
This is totally unfair to those who have contributed meaningfully to the development of this country but are still in acting positions.
