IJIVITARI MP David Arore plans to return to his electorate and begin work on ensuring that basic government services and projects are completed.

Arore, the former Higher Education Minister, handed over the portfolio to Sohe MP Delilah Gore after a cabinet reshuffle.

“I am happy with the change in government and it is timely as this will allow  me to spend more time with my people in the electorate to solidify the electorate, re-arrange my office and basically to get my electorate in order,” he said.

“There are several projects like the coffee mill construction, upgrading of the district hospital and incentives for doctors to move to Popondetta that I have started and would like to see them completed and this will be the opportune time for such matters.

“Popondetta is the only province providing incentives for doctors. K50,000 for vehicles and K20,000 cash, so far, the province has taken in three new doctors and this is good news for the province.”

He said the Prime Minister Peter O’Neill had declared 2014-2017 as the years of accelerated implementation and he planned to return to his electorate and work.

He said over the past years, successive governments had failed to recognise Popondetta’s potential  in tourism, education and health but changes were in the horizon.
