Asaro-Kagi road in Daulo receives K1.5mil for reconstruction

DAULP MP Pogio Ghate says road connectivity will trigger all other developments and economic activities and he is banking on it in his district this year.
Ghate presented a K1.5 million cheque to the Works Department for the construction and maintenance of one of the key roads in his electorate, the Asaro-Kagi road.
“My focus now is to connect all my people in the district with quality roads because road is the very fundamental ingredient for any other social and economic developments in the districts and provinces,” Ghate said.
He said through improved and quality road access, health and education services would improve, business and economic opportunities would improve and the living standard and social welfare of people will improve.
He said Daulo people were hardworking who cultivate and grew abundance of cash crops such as coffee and fresh produce such as sweet potatoes, cabbage, carrots, broccoli, onion and other fruits and vegetables.
But the problem was lack of better and quality road access in the district for them to access markets and get better return on their hard work.
Ghate said this was a partnership between the Works Department and Daulo district and asked that work start immediately because his people had been suffering for too long and he could not continue to wait and see them suffer.
