EAST Sepik Governor Allan Bird says three issues were discussed by the provincial executive council (PEC) in their assembly meeting this week.
Bird highlighted them on his social media page yesterday.
“The East Sepik PEC discussed three issues which are important for the future of greater Sepik as we look to regional government in the future,” the Governor said.
He said the three issues discussed includes:

  • Special elective seats for women in the provincial assembly;
  • legal issues pertaining to the introduction of Hemp cultivation, processing and export from Sepik; and,
  • Frieda River project’s impact study review.

“The information papers were considered and approved and sent for policy investigation for the next PEC.
“It is important if we are to have a strong regional government in the future that we fully develop our provincial legislature and all its organs of management including the PEC,” Bird said.
