Assist one another with school fees

Letters

LET us establish the root cause why the Government made the decision to cut the Tuition Fee Free (TFF) component by half.
The reality is that many school heads and their school board chairmans’ had deliberately abused the TFF funds since its inception.
Matter of fact, many schools severely lack any sign of tangible improvement at all.
Sadly the Government was forced to make this decision, for everyone’s benefit and certainly for the system itself, which is justifiable and fair.
I do sympathise with those schools who had demonstrated prudent financial management and proven tangible developments at their schools.
Papua New Guinea is richly blessed with natural resources on land, beneath the earth and in the ocean.
We are yet to fully maximise the full benefits through honest, hard work and with total commitment.
There should not be excuses from abled individuals.
With the current notion to “Take Back PNG”, there is a need for all Papua New Guineans to rejuvenate our mindsets to be prepared to work harder to realise our full potential in whatever we do for the benefit of our family and the nation.
Therefore, we should be prepared to sacrifice and sweat our guts in order to earn our living and aspire for better things.
When parents are made to share the costs for their children’s education, their children will realise the amount of time, effort and energy put into preparing the fees.
Ultimately, it becomes a motivating factor, thus it will make their children to concentrate at school and work extra harder to attain better academic results.
This is currently lacking at all levels of educational institutions nationwide.
Our wonderful Melanesian culture is terrific and very unique, and such that helping one another through our mutual relationships should pay off.
Therefore, when common sense prevails, no one should be left behind but as part of our investment, we all should be considerate and help one another.
