AN association has helped to connect electricity to a community in Western Highlands recently.
The Helping Hand Incorporated Association (HHIA) from Nebilyer in the Tambul-Nebilyer launched more than a kilometre power project from Tega to Kuowalga village last Friday.
Association treasurer Jacob Kop said HHIA had stepped in after seeing the need for people at Kuowalga.
Kop said the people lived close to the Highlands Highway but missed out on this service for a long time.
Kop said the association was formed to empower people and help them live a better life.
“This was the reason why we have come to light up Kuowalga village so people from the Ulga Kunduka clan can access and improve their living standards.”
