THE Morobe provincial administration has failed for the second time to appear at Wampar station to receive the petition disputing the ownership of the Nadzab Airport land.

Orogwangin and Zeaganchon clan spokesperson Paul Joshua said that they would file a court application today for the courts to set the date for the government to turn up at Wampar station to receive the petition.

“Where is the government’s decentralised mechanism that allows the district administrator, local level council manager and president to receive petition on the government’s behalf, if they cannot make it?” he asked.

The dispute is over the ownership of the two land portions include Ngawampog (Nadzab Airport), Portions 401, 402 and Dogoro (Erap station) Portions 391, 389.

Orogwangin and Zeaganchon claimed that Orognaron and Wanti clans collaborated with the provincial government to defraud the state in receiving land payments.

Acting provincial administrator Geoving Belong last Thursday postponed the invitation to receive the petition following the death of Stella Naru, wife of Governor Kelly Naru.

Belong again turned down the schedule yesterday and sent text messages to Joshua that a court order was in place and he would allow court processes to deal with the matter.
