NAWAEB MP and Vice-Minister for Education Gisuwat Siniwin has called on school administrators to ensure funding meant for school materials and development was put to good use.

Siniwin, a former principal of Bumayong Secondary School in Lae, delivered exercise books and stationery for 117 schools in the constituency in Lae. Morobe Stationery supplied 120 cartons of books.

He said K10 million from the Government was a lot of money and he would ensure the funding was used properly.

He told the small crowd of school representatives and educational heads that K3.3 million was already guaranteed from other sponsors.

Siniwin said the three local level governments (LLGs) in his electorate were also receiving K500,000 each annually and presidents and ward councillors should be working together to ensure that the money was used properly and wisely.

“This is not a political campaign but an indication that the Government is serious about education in the country,” he said.
