Attitude holding govt at ransom

Letters

EVERY action we take has a consequence.
Small mistakes can accumulate and become a disaster and cost us millions to fix.
So much has been said about government services not reaching the people.
Our bad attitudes is a reason holding the government at ransom and is a contributing factor depriving us from receiving decent and genuine government services.
Bad choices and indecent attitudes cut and slows down the frequency of development.
It is insane to see the government wasting millions to fund commission of inquiries to fight corruption because some people have selfish desires to make themselves rich.
This is really bad and inhumane in nature.
Such amount of money should have been saved to build bridges, roads, buy ships, build aid-post, health centres, classrooms, fund agriculture programmes, erect communication towers and so on.
But instead it is spent unnecessarily on investigating those who do not poses self-control attitude.
The breakdown in law and order is the result of bad choices and attitudes we make.
Simple, easy and avoidable things such as public littering, betel nut spitting, drinking in public places, family and sexual violence turn out to be very costly.
Money to fix roads, patch potholes and help fund other worthy projects are wasted on manmade disasters.
Correctional Services Department are seeking government intervention to build and maintain prison facilities, run rehabilitation programmes and buy food.
The Police Department is requesting additional funding to curb crime.
This cost is incurred by human attitude. What a waste!
Taxes have been wasted on correcting our own mistakes.
The natural ability called self-control, it cost us nothing to attain, but it cost us millions to maintain.
Why?
We need to change our attitudes and free up some space for good and healthy developments to take place.
