Aust Govt back youths in PNG

 PAPUA New Guinea youths continue to receive support from the Australian Government over the years irrespective of changes in leadership.

Speaking during a press conference last week in Lae, National Youth Development Authority director general Norit Luio outlined Australia’s continuous support.

“The Federal Government of Australia continued its commitment through education, health and law and justice sectors through its scholarship and grants programmes in helping to give young people a better quality of life.”

He said the Abbott government has continued its commitment from its predecessors in empowering young people through the Australian Award Scholarship.

“The funding of youth programmes in Manus and Bougainville must be highlighted as a gesture of a goodwill the Australian Government continues to pursue in PNG.”
