Australian police donate computers to NCD counterparts

THE Australian Federal Police (AFP), under the PNG-Australia Policing Partnership, donated 10 computers to National Capital District police yesterday.
NCD Met Supt Perou N’dranou said the computers were important in ensuring that police managed their administrative duties.
“We cannot do our job well if there is no balance between police field operations and administrative duties,” he said in thanking AFP.
“Without the backing of administration, our operations will collapse.”
AFP’s PNG mission commander Assist Comm of Police (ACP) Amanda Kates said the donation came as part of a partnership she hoped to maintain with PNG police.
“These 10 computers had been stuck in our back office and I was wondering what to do with them,” she said.
“I then immediately thought of the NCD police.”
ACP Kates said AFP would assist NCD police in installing the software if the need arose.
“All you need to do is reach to us,” she told Supt N’dranou.
