THE Investment Promotion Authority launched three publications in Port Moresby on Friday together with its strategic plan 2018-2020.
The three publications are:

  • 2017 annual report;
  • Business licence information system which contains all information on business licensing, permits, certificates and approval processes including fees administered by various Government agencies in the country; and
  • Export import guide for small to medium enterprise (SME) importers and exporters.

Chairman Leon Buskens said the 2017 annual report was a requirement under Section 18 of the IPA Act 1992.
“We are happy for a clean financial record for all three consecutive years audited,” he said.
“This is one of the achievements that some of the stakeholders and departments lack. Other key activities are in legislation, policy, regulation and other operational matters.”
Daroa Peter, acting director – investor servicing and promotion, said the business licence information system was a “one-stop shop” concept.
He said the booklet was a set of guidelines important for those agencies that registered with IPA.
Peter said the export and import guide complements the trade and SME policy.
“As you all know, we are not a policy-making agency, we are an implementing agency,” he said.
“This publication is done to document the trade policy, particularly for the import and export procedures.”
