THE Tourism Promotion Authority (TPA) has returned to the Internationale Tourismus-Börse(ITB) Berlin after five years and is committed to showcasing the country’s diverse offerings to the European market.
Authority chief executive officer Eric Uvovo said: “We are thrilled to be back at ITB Berlin, reconnecting with old friends and forging new partnerships.
“Our commitment to promoting PNG remains unshaken.
“Despite challenges posed by negative publicity, the demand to explore PNG remains unwavering.
“The allure of our pristine landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and warm hospitality continues to captivate European travellers.”
Uvovo said the authority understood the significance of ITB Berlin as a platform to foster international understanding, cultural exchange, and peace through travel.
“With over 5,500 exhibitors from 170 countries, this year’s event promises to be a beacon of hope for the travel industry’s revival,” he said.
Uvovo said the authority was resolute in its mission to showcase the country to the European market.
The authority recently launched its website to serve as a traveller’s information hub about PNG as a tourism destination.
